Robert began his career in the banking industry more than 25 years ago. In this time, he has developed a strong knowledge base for both retail/consumer banking, as well as business purpose banking. He has held many positions such as a Teller, Personal Banker, Private Banking Relationship Manager, Branch Manager, Business Banker, and Business Banking Relationship manager. 

Robert started his career on the teller line and quickly developed a passion for helping clients with their banking needs. He was soon promoted to a role as a Personal Banker where he focused on helping clients with FDIC insured investments such as CD’s, savings, and Money Market accounts. He also began to sharpen his lending skills with various consumer loans such as home equity credit lines and car loans. In addition, he was able to help small business owners with very small equipment loans and credit lines. As a Branch Manager, and prior to moving on to a role in business banking, he was given the opportunity to open and establish several offices that expanded the banks footprint. 

While Robert truly enjoyed working with the general public, he realized that he had developed a keen interest in working with small business owners. Specifically, the ability to advise these business owners and help them secure the funding that would allow their business to grow. He has continued to develop and sharpen his credit lending knowledge through ongoing banking courses such as “Omega”, an analysis driven and risk focused commercial lending curriculum.

Today, as a Business Banking Relationship Manager with First Citizens Bank, Robert primarily works with medical and dental professionals. He has helped many associates realize their dream of purchasing their first practice as well as many established practice owners purchase a building, secure working capital, or purchase the equipment needed to grow. He has built strong, long term relationships with his clients and strive to provide a very high level of personal service.  He can honestly say that he loves what he does for his clients every day. Nearly all business owners have a team of professional advisors that will include an attorney, CPA, and a Banker. His contribution as many clients “Go to Banker” has been extremely personally rewarding and keeps him coming back every ready to tackle the next challenge.
